Event in Numbers: 1 hour | 21 national media | 6 brands
At the end of April, we hosted our bi-annual Mother & Baby Power Pitching press event, attended by some of the industry's leading brands and retailers and national, lifestyle and parenting journalists. The journalists virtually met with PRs pitching in their Spring/Summer parenting essentials to media actively looking for Mother & baby products to feature in their upcoming articles.
Who attended?
The array of brands taking to the stage included;
iCandy - launching their latest pushchair
Sleeping Stars - giving the media an insight into their bestselling children’s sleepwear
Tutti Bambini - pitching their cribs, highchairs and bedding sets
Cricut - demonstrating how their pocket-sized cutting machines can create personalised gifts and everyday essentials
MORI - showcasing three spring/summer collections
Wonderbly - displaying their personalised books
The national media in attendance included journalists from Mother&Baby, The Independent, The Parent Edit, Daily Mail, Mumsnet, Yours, Woman’s Health, Good Housekeeping, Reach PLC, My Baba, News UK, Country Living, MadeforMums, The Sun, Stylist and more.
How did it work?
The event lasted for one hour, during which time each brand met with 3-4 journalists at a time in their own virtual breakout room, where they delivered a 6-minute pitch highlighting key product information, stats and the story behind their brand. Once their 6 minutes were up, they’d meet their next set of journalists, tailoring their pitch slightly to suit what the journalists were looking for, something that was shared with them before the session. By the end, all PRs had pitched to the different journalists in attendance, whilst enjoying networking opportunities and short music breaks in between.
Following the event, all PRs received the media's contact details and addresses so they could distribute samples, continue conversations and line up future coverage opportunities.
