Inside our Parent & Baby Power Pitching Event

On the 27th of April, CIJ Group hosted our Parent & Baby Power Pitching event on Zoom, with 7 fabulous brands pitching their must-have products for parents and babies to 26 journalists, in short, fun, intimate breakout rooms! 


In attendance on the day we had a bevy of top journalists and publications, including the likes of: Shopping Writer from the Evening Standard, Senior Homes & Parenting Writer from HELLO!, Senior E-Commerce Writer from The Sun, Head of Features from ITV Lorraine and Features Editor from Cosmopolitan, who listened to our wonderful brands pitch their top products!

It was great to have such a wide variety of brands in attendance, with products varying from Cricut’s machine, to children’s toys and playsets, personalised books, car seats and even baby shampoo and body washes! 


Our journalists even received some samples from Mini U in the post and the lovely Margarita Mitchel Pollock and Selina Maycock enthusiastically took to social media to share their gifts with their followers! 


Overall it was a fun, positive and upbeat event - we particularly loved all the song requests (especially ‘We don’t talk about Bruno’!). It was the perfect way to brighten up a Wednesday afternoon, but don’t just take it from us! Here is some of the feedback we received from our journalist friends:

Our Power Pitching events are exactly that - “a win-win” for both journalists and PRs! Brands are guaranteed to meet 20+ journalists and receive their contact details for follow-ups, whilst journalist attendees meet brands, acquire story ideas, all within an hour and 15 minutes. Journalists also receive a John Lewis e-voucher for attending the full session and sometimes samples from brands!
