CIJ Group celebrates Power Pitching’s 50th Virtual Event
213 brands & retailers have participated in Power Pitching events
56 PR agencies use Power Pitching to elevate their client PR strategies
Over 1,000 media have attended the Power Pitching events on offer
CIJ Group is delighted to celebrate and host their 50th Virtual Power Pitching event on Thursday 23rd February 2023. Coined as ‘speed dating meets Dragons Den’, Power Pitching welcomes PRs from leading brands, retailers and PR agencies to pitch their consumer products to leading national journalists, meeting on average 26 journalists in just over an hour.
Power Pitching was the second PR solution to be offered by CIJ Group, following the success of The Big Christmas Press Show, formerly known as The Christmas in July Festival, as there was demand for more collaborative events to support PRs beyond the golden quarter.
Power Pitching launched in January 2019 with its first event welcoming PRs pitching their products for Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day to leading journalists at Carlton House Terrace. Following its success, a further 5 events were offered that year, across key retail dates and industry verticals. In June 2020, CIJ Group pivoted the direction of Power Pitching, moving from in-person to virtual events, amidst the pandemic to ensure everyone stayed connected and received a positive reception from PRs and journalists alike.
Today, Power Pitching continues to keep PRs and journalists connected with a series of 18 events being hosted per year, including two for US Media. The virtual solution remains a success, with many journalists remote working and PRs being based all over the UK, the events help to save journalists and PRs valuable time by facilitating short and punchy meetings and garnering excellent results. In recent years over 1,000 media have attended the calendar of Power Pitching events.
Katie Gregory, Freelance Journalist, Evening Standard & IndyBest said: “I've found so many new products for my shopping round-ups via Power Pitching events - they're informative, fun, and to the point.”
To date 213 brands & retailers have participated in Power Pitching and 56 PR agencies use Power Pitching to elevate their client PR strategies. Leading retailers who trust Power Pitching include Marks & Spencer, Seasalt, JoJo Maman Bébé, Wayfair, Laithwaites, Beaverbrooks, Superdry, NOTHS and Whittard of Chelsea. Leading agencies including Hatch PR, Kaizo and Playtime PR have represented their clients in 10+ Power Pitching events, whilst Moonpig has taken part in a staggering 22 Power Pitching events!
Courtney Rogers, Founder of CIJ Group comments “I’m delighted to be celebrating our 50th Virtual Power Pitching event and it’s incredible to think of the breadth of companies large and small that Power Pitching has helped support over recent years. The events being virtual help us to support PRs all over the UK including Manchester, Cornwall and Edinburgh who no longer have to travel to meet face to face with national journalists, many of whom are based in and around London. We’d like to thank all of our clients for their support and say a huge thank you to all journalists that attend our events, we strongly believe that by collaborating we can prosper together.”
